Symes investigation numbers boosted

11/10/2009 10:56:01

Extra front line police staff have been brought in to help in the search for missing West Auckland toddler Aisling Symes.

There are now 60 officers working on the search for the two year-old, as it goes into its seventh day.

The extra staff have been drafted in from Counties-Manukau and Auckland.

Police are still struggling for clues, and trying to find key people seen in the Longburn Road area of Henderson at the time she disappeared.

One was an Asian woman with a dog and there are also reports of a suspicious man, Asian or Polynesian, carrying a broken umbrella.

Detectives working on the case say they have been profiling several "persons of interest".

A 10-second video clip of Aisling Symes has been uploaded to the police website.
