Medical testing firm Labtests has been summoned to an urgent meeting with Auckland's district health boards today.

The company took over laboratory testing from Diagnostic Medlab around a month ago.

Since then, there have been complaints about delays and mixed-up tests.

Today, a woman suffering from diabetes says she has been sent the results of a test diagnosing prostate problems,.something applicable only to men.

Health and Disability Commissioner Ron Paterson publicly criticised the firm yesterday, saying there is a real risk patients could be harmed.
