Big decision for Marina Erakovic

09/06/2009 10:20:01

New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic will make a decision in the next 24 hours on whether she plays Wimbledon.

Erakovic has been off the WTA Tour since March with a stress reaction in her hip. She has only just started practicing again and will meet with her medical experts today before making a decision.

Erakovic's ranking has slipped outside the top 100 and she will have to be off the Tour for six months to be able to use a protected ranking to play up to eight WTA Tour level events.

If she decides to play Wimbledon, she will have to start playing lower level events again.
