Bain prints appear "chemically enhanced"

22/05/2009 11:33:47

David Bain - NZ Herald/Pool

A British fingerprint expert believes David Bain's prints on the murder rifle were chemically enhanced in photos.

Carl Lloyd is continuing to give evidence for the defence at Bain's murder retrial.

Yesterday he cast doubt on the evidence of the Crown fingerprint expert who found the prints, saying there was nothing to indicate they were made in blood at all.

This morning Mr Lloyd has told the court the photos of the prints look like they have been chemically enhanced to give the appearance of blood. He said super glue or powder could have been used to do so.
