A man will appear in the Porirua District Court tomorrow over the theft of a Titahi Bay dog who was used as bait in a dog fight. The 14-year-old Rhodesian ridgeback cross called Lincoln, was stolen from his owner's property and taken to Whitireia Park where he was attacked by two other dogs before witnesses called police. SPCA spokeswoman Lisa Snow says a large cross breed dog believed to have attacked Lincoln was also seized from the arrested man's property and is in the custody of the SPCA. "The dog that has been seized has injuries that are consistent with being in a dog fight, so we're confident that this is the dog that attacked Lincoln." Lincoln suffered serious bite wounds in the attack.
