Dixon finishes 15th at Long Beach

20/04/2009 11:40:04

Scott Dixon has finished 15th in the second Indycar race of the season at Long Beach, California.

Dixon started from sixth on the grid, but almost immediately struck trouble.

"First pit stop we made a bit of a bobble there and a few guys short-filled and popped ahead of us."

Dixon says he got clipped at the end by Ryan Briscoe under the yellow flag to clean up an earlier accident.

The New Zealander's teammate Dario Franchitti won the race. Will Power second and Tony Kanaan came third.

Dixon's result follows his 16th placing in the previous race in Florida. The result leaves the defending champion 17th overall with 29 points. Franchitti is the IRL leader with 84.
