Murder-accused Nai Yin Xue will face a depositions hearing in September on a charge of murdering his wife.

The former martial arts instructor and publisher has made a very brief appearance in the Auckland District Court.

He faces one charge of murdering his wife Annan Liu in September last year.

Xue did not enter a plea and was remanded back into custody.
