Avondale College opens tomorrow

24/10/2006 17:24:02

Avondale College will be open tomorrow.

The school was closed today after a fatal stabbing outside its gates on Sunday. Fourteen-year-old Manaolo Kaumeafaiva died after being stabbed in the chest.

A 16-year-old also sustained stab wounds. A second 16-year-old has been charged with assault with a weapon and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Deputy Principal Mrs Heather Compton says the school will be open, but she says those coming to the school will need to use Gate Three as the road where the attack occurred is still closed for the police investigation.
