Anderson set to take helm at Roosters?

29/08/2006 13:40:02

Daniel Anderson could be on the cusp of a return to coaching in the NRL.

The former Warriors and Kiwis mentor is being touted as a possible replacement for sacked Roosters coach Ricky Stuart.

Stuart has gone after five years at the Sydney club - with the team failing to make the playoffs for the second straight year.

Roosters legend Hugh McGahan says he has heard Anderson is the leading contender. He understands a contract has been put in front of Anderson but he has not signed anything yet.

Hugh McGahan says he has some reservations about Anderson as he is a similar character to Stuart in that he has well publicised people problems.
