Joe van Niekerk out injured

26/08/2006 7:20:01

The Springboks have suffered another injury setback.

Replacement loose forward Joe van Niekerk has been ruled out of tonight's test against the All Blacks in Pretoria.

Sprinboks coach Jake White says van Niekerk could not sleep on Thursday night so they took him to a doctor who has discovered there has been some movement in a disc in his back.

Jake White says Pierre Spies will the number seven jersey tonight.

Meanwhile for Graham Henry the preparations have been a lot smoother.

Henry says despite all the challenges the week has gone well. He says the boys have travelled well, with the majority agreeing it is the best they have ever felt coming to South Africa.

Graham Henry and the All Blacks held a light run on Loftus last night.

Rain is forecast for later tonight, but it might not show up. Kick off tonight's is at 1am.
