United Airlines is retiring the iconic Boeing 747 for good a year sooner than planned.
They'll be gone from the fleet by October.
The airline says the 747 once represented state-of-the-art air travel and was the Queen of the Skies.
But they've now lost their cutting edge, guzzle gas and need expensive maintenance.
The jumbo has been on the decline for two decades while airlines move toward twin-engine planes like the 777.
