A committee at the United Nations has adopted a resolution condemning child marriage, which it says affects 15 million girls every year.
Member countries are now expected to enact and uphold laws to prevent child marriages, and promote girls' education.
The UN says women who marry before they're 18 suffer a greater risk of domestic violence, and are more likely to have complications in pregnancy and childbirth.
