UPDATED 8.56PM: Two police officers have been shot in the US city of San Diego.
On Twitter, the San Diego Police Department said the officers were shot in the 3800 block of Boston Avenue.

The condition of the officers was unknown.
“Keep them in your prayers,” the tweet said.
Police said one suspect was now in custody while the area is searched for other possible suspects.

Tensions between police and the US public have been high in recent weeks following the shootings of a number of unarmed men by officers.
Eight police officers have been killed in separate attacks in the US cities of Baton Rouge and Dallas.
