Two people are dead and the injury toll continues to climb from a bushfire burning north of Adelaide.

Fifteen people have been hospitalised for serious burns or smoke inhalation, with another 29 treated by ambulance crews for less serious injuries.

The blaze continues to burn around a series of towns including Owen, Hamley Bridge, Tarlee, Freeling, Wasleys, Kapunda and Greenock, but the threat has been reduced to a watch and act message.

The Country Fire Service said the perimeter of the blaze hasn't increased since last night.
But there are reports of buildings and other assets still burning today.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has expressed his deepest sympathy to the families of two people who died in the bushfires.

Mr Turnbull said he has spoken to South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill to offer any federal government help that might be necessary.
