Big storms have continued to pound New South Wales today as the clean-up continues from two in the space of 12 hours yesterday.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are in place for a large part of NSW, including parts of the Sydney metropolitan area.
Sue Pritchard, from the State Emergency Service, said they still have clean-up work to finish from yesterday's storms.
"Our teams will be in the field throughout the day, cleaning up and getting through those jobs. They got through a fair few last night but there will still be more work to do."
Meanwhile, Queenslanders have also been warned to brace for damaging winds, heavy rains and possible flooding as severe storms sweep the sunshine state.
Residents across vast areas of the state's central and southeast coasts are being urged to take shelter and batten down the hatches as the storms take hold this evening.
Palen Creek, about 100 kilometres southwest of Brisbane, recorded 68mm of rain in just one hour this afternoon.
