Rumour has it Kevin Rudd is campaigning for the post of United Nations Secretary-General.
Apparently the former Australia prime minister is eyeing up the top spot, despite having a reputation for being impossible to work with.
Australia correspondent Murray Olds says Mr Rudd isn't denying his interest in the position.
"He's playing down his chances. It's certainly Europe's turn to take the leadership when Ban Ki-Moon, but if there's no suitable candidate he says he might allow his name to go forward."
The other potential candidate from Australasia is former Prime Minister Helen Clark.
She is currently the Head of the UN Development Programme, and is tipped as a possibility to become the first female Secretary General.
Clark and Rudd were only briefly Prime Ministers at the same time, between 2007 and 2008.
