Updated 8.54am: The Queen could face the first ever strike by staff at Windsor Castle just days before Britain's general election.
More than a hundred low-paid staff will vote today on whether to take industrial action.
UK correspondent Malcolm Stuart says the workers had been expecting a pay increase but it never came.
"Last year staff accepted what they say was an unsatisfactory pay offer, on the understanding that allowances and duties would be considered this year. These were refused."
Malcolm Stuart says the workers believe their employer can afford to pay them more.
"They're very low paid they say, the staffing salary is the equivalent of $28,000 a year.
The general election in the UK is on May 7.
