Gun violence in America is back under the spotlight after another tragic school shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High in Washington state.
Freshman Jaylen Fryberg opened fire at the school cafeteria killing one student and injuring seven others.
Three are in hospital with life threatening injuries.
Marysville police chief Rick Smith commended students on their bravery as the incident unfolded.
"Our kids go to school they should feel safe going to school. I will not promote that motivation by devoting any time on the shooter. Instead we should focus on the heroic efforts of teachers who quickly moved students to safety and the students who helped one another."
Fryberg killed himself with his own gun.
