The New Zealand Defence Force has now started training Iraqi Security Forces.
The contingent is now established at their base in Camp Taji.
Land Component Commander Brigadier Peter Kelly says the training is focusing on basic operational skills such as planning, weapons training, basic manoeuvres and the profession of arms.
The Australian Defence Force is also involved in the training.
