New York has confirmed its first case of Ebola, in a doctor who'd recently returned from treating patients at the epicentre of the world's worst outbreak in Guinea.
Dr Craig Spencer is now in isolation at Bellevue Hospital Center in Manhattan.
Meanwhile Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Paul Allen is upping his donation to the World Health Organisation to 100 million US dollars.
New York mayor maintains calm
New York's mayor is trying to maintain calm in the city, after a doctor was put into isolation with the Ebola virus.
He'd recently returned from treating patients in the Ebola hotspot of Guinea, and had been in close contact with only a few people.
Bill De Blasio says there's no danger to New Yorkers at large, even though the man used the subway and visited restaurants and a bowling alley.
He says only people who've been in west Africa recently and begin to feel unwell need to act quickly.
"Do not wait, do not hesitate.
"Do not wait to see if you get better."
