Victims of Sydney's Lindt cafe siege have put a hefty price tag on their stories.

Some have signed exclusive contracts with TV networks, including one which is reportedly worth $400,000.

Media commentator Janet Wilson told Newstalk ZB's Jack Tame it might have been even more, just a few years ago.

"Back in 06 Beackonsfield miners Todd Russell and Brant Webb were paid $2.6 million for a two hour special."
