More than 6900 people have now died from the Ebola virus, almost all of them in west Africa.
The World Health Organisation says as of December 14th, there were 18,569 cases of infection of the deadly virus in the three worst affected countries - Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone - and 6900 deaths.
This is out of a total of 18,603 cases and 6915 deaths across eight countries affected by the outbreak.
