It appears a lack of perceived 'open mindedness' puts non-religious people off dating those who believe in a higher power.
This comes in the findings of an Otago University study, which looked at how religious people and non-religious people perceived the openness of potential mates.
It found non-religious people associated religious beliefs with being less open.
One of the study's authors Jamin Halberstadt says they were especially keen on looking at one of the five key personality traits, 'openness to new experiences.'
"The engagement in the world,intellectual curiosity, openness to new ideas, and we've found that non-religious people tended to believe that religious people were less open to experiences
