Catalonia's self-proclaimed silent majority say they won't be silent any longer.
Up to a million people have been on the streets of Barcelona, opposing the regional parliament's decision to declare independence.
The Catalonian parliament voted through the independence resolution on Friday, but a few hours later the Spanish Prime Minister dismissed the president.
Catalan leaders say Spain has mounted a coup by sacking the government and calling a new election.
But Sky's Tom Parmenter said today's protests are a reminder many Catalans don't agree with the separatists' position.
"They feel they haven't necessarily had their say, haven't been represented, the separatists have had all the attention," he said.
The latest Catalan crisis comes after an independence referendum was held earlier this month.
The vote was met with wide-scale resistance from the Spanish government, despite the overwhelming majority of Catalonians that voted choosing independence.
