The man who created the first commercial bungy jump has set his sights on creating the world's highest bungy.

Extreme sport legend AJ Hackett is jumping into new territory with a 260 metre-long drop to be built in China.

The jump platform will hang from China's world- famous glass bottomed bridge located in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province.

There’ll also be a giant swing platform, flying foxes and another 40 metre bungy off a overpass above the glass bridge.

It's all part of a number of projects AJ Hackett International is working on.

Mr Hackett said he's excited to branch out, “We’ve never opened as many sites of this calibre in such a short timeframe. We’ll double the size of the company within the next three years.”

Singapore's Sentosa Island will receive what looks to be an adventure park for extremists in May next year.

The $SGD12 million project includes a 47m jump, two giant swings, a vertical skywalk, a sky bridge vertigo experience and a restaurant and bar from a purpose-built tower.

A similar Skypark will also open in Moscow, Russia in early 2018.

Mr Hackett said governments are approaching the company due to its focus on safety and managing human risk, "They tell us they want their people and visitors to experience the personal challenge of these activities."

"Then we get carried away with designers and make everything really cool - there are plenty of things you can jump off but we want it to be special.”

The platform in China will be ready for thrill-seekers late next year.
