Wellington city councillors have approved a new Wellington Town Belt management plan.
The vote was made at a City Strategy Committee meeting this morning.
The changes are only minor but it means the plan is up to speed with the Town Belt Act, which was modernised in 2016.
Natural environment portfolio leader Peter Gilberd said it's a technical change but it's an important one.
"What this means is that the management plan reflects the wording of the act, so the actual changes that are being made simply reflect that act, and there's no major change in the way that the Town Belt is governed."
Gilberd said it's been a long time coming.
"I can reflect on the hard work of other people who have worked so hard; staff, friends of the Town Belt, members of the public- a lot of people have worked really hard on the Town Belt because it is beloved by Wellington."
