A special advance-screening of the final Hobbit film will be hosted in Wellington next week.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be played to some of the cast and crew, as well as some fans, at The Roxy Cinema on Tuesday.

WETA Workshop co-founder Sir Richard Taylor will also be there, and says it's fitting that the finale will be hosted back where it all began.

The final movie of the trilogy will be linked live to the premiere in London via video satellite.
