Organisers of Wellington's largest annual gay and lesbian event say patchy weather won't stop them going ahead.

Last month's Out in the Park had to be postponed because of strong winds and heavy rain.

Chairwoman Virginia Parker-Bowles says it's been combined with the existing CupaDupa Festival to create a carpark fair on Ghuznee Street this afternoon.

A pride parade will be a feature of the afternoon, heading from Civic Square to Ghuznee Street.
