A Lower Hutt supermarket shut while a nearby building is demolished will pop back into life this afternoon.
A pop-up version of New World Hutt City will be trading from under a marquee in its carpark, and is expected to remain open for a week or so.
The supermarket itself remains closed because the nearby Queensgate carpark building is being torn down due to quake damage.
Owner Steve Williams said it's been a challenging time.
"Although it's not where we want to be, it is what it is and we just need to get back trading as quickly as we can, and obviously that's our intention."
Williams said they have been overwhelmed by the messages of support from customers who are keen for them to be back up and running.
"We've had so many reaching out to us and members of staff asking when we're open, and unfortunately we still don't know that."
