A sprinkling of rain has done nothing to ease a month-long dry spell in Wellington.
Toxic algae continues to bloom in the Hutt River and residential water restrictions remain in place.
Metservice meteorologist Ravi Kandula said that a few millimetres of rain did fall in the northern Hutt Valley over the weekend.
And while a southerly push could also bring light showers on Wednesday evening, it won't be anything notable.
Kandula said the capital will probably face another long dry spell after this anyway, saying "it's going to be dry, dry, dry."
"[Wellington is] not looking at any significant rainfall for the next week, at least," he said.
