Former Hastings mayor Lawrence Yule is looking very confident in Tukituki.
The new National Party candidate is well ahead of his closest rival, Labour's Anna Lorck.
More than 60% of the votes have been counted in Tukituki.
If this trend continues, Yule will take over from retired National MP Craig Foss.
