US president Donald Trump has delivered a decisive message during a speech to the UN General Assembly in New York, charting a new course for America's involvement with the world.
He issued a stern warning telling the UN General Assembly he'll "totally destroy" North Korea, if it doesn't end its nuclear stand-off.
He's urging United Nations member states to work together to isolate the Kim government until it ceases its "hostile" behaviour.
Mr Trump said if North Korea doesn't stand down, the US will come to South Korea's defence.
"We will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea, rocket man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime."
He's also threatening to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, take military action in Venezuela, and withdraw crucial funding for UN programmes.
He said America will continue to be a friend to the world, but will focus on its own interests.
"We can no longer be taken of, or enter into a one sided deal where the United States gets nothing in return."
Trump also said that decent nations must not become bystanders to history and tolerate the actions of rogue nations.
"The scourge of our planet today is a small group of rouge regimes that respects neither their own citizens nor the sovereign rights rights of other countries."
