Sam Whitelock will gift his All Blacks number 5 jersey from the second Bledisloe Cup test in Dunedin this weekend to Sir Colin Meads' family.

The late Meads wore the number 5 jersey 47 times in his 55 tests for the All Blacks between 1957 and 1971.

The All Blacks will also reveal a special tribute on the night.

The match will be preceded by a moment's silence.

All Mitre 10 Cup and Heartland Championship matches this weekend will also observe a moment’s silence.
