Two former political leaders are about to depart Parliament.
Former Labour Leader David Cunliffe and former Prime Minister John Key, who faced each other at the 2014 General Election, have both announced their intention to leave politics next month.
Both men are describing their time in politics as being a privilege and an honour and have thanked those who have supported them in their respective careers.
With both Key and Cunliffe leaving Parliament during the April recess, it means the government will keep its current majority in the House.
