The Justice Minister is promising ongoing vigilance when it comes to our anti-corruption rating.

We've tied with Denmark for the number one spot in the global transparency ratings, moving up from fourth place in 2015.

Amy Adams said as a country, society and culture, we're honest and up-front and deal with each other fairly - and that plays a big part in our score.

"That is an incredibly important part because anyone who seeks to act corruptly faces 4.5 million people who are going to say that's not how we do things, and are likely to ensure someone knows."

Ms Adams said this year they're widening the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act, which she believes will help keep us at the top of that list.

"You have to continually stay on top of where the trends in criminal behaviour and corruption are going, and ensure that our systems are ready to adapt to them."
