Nathan Guy is on his way to Europe to talk food and agriculture in Rome.
The Minister for Primary Industries will attend the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations’ Biennial Conference.
New Zealand is actively involved with the organisation on issues relating to climate change and livestock management.
Mr Guy says our country is part of two initiatives relating to the livestock sector, one of which aims to improve the use of natural resources.
He says this will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, and help improve food security and reduce poverty.
