UPDATED 4.09PM: The Prime Minister won't name the hacker behind Dirty Politics - and he won't take the name to police.

An updated version of a biography of the Prime Minister quotes Mr Key as saying he was told who the hacker was who supplied information used in Nicky Hager's book "Dirty Politics"

John Key says he's pretty sure he knows the person's identity, after a tip off from a member of the public.

But he says he's moved on, and believes the public has to, so it's up to his informant to pass on the name to the police, if that's what they want to do.

Meanwhile, the Greens want the police to raid the Prime Minister over the dirty politics scandal.

Green Party Co-leader Russel Norman says if that's the case then why aren't the police raiding Mr Key's house?

He says given the police spent 10 hours going through Mr Hager's house he would expect them to be consistent and even handed and raid the Prime Minister's house and office.
