Kiwi fertiliser companies are being encouraged not to import product from Western Sahara.
The call's coming from the Green Party and its Co-Leader Russel Norman.
He says Western Sahara is an occupied country so to import phosphate from there isn't appropriate as the country's people don't benefit from it.
Dr Norman says Ballance and Ravensdown shouldn't import phosphate from there.
"Taking minerals that have been taken effectively by an occupied power, I think is quite unethical."
