Updated 1.15pm: Green MP Gareth Hughes is joining the race to be his party's next co-leader.
He's made the announcement today saying he believes he can do the best job to grow his party's vote and sees himself as standing for a new generation of Green leadership.
Mr Hughes says he's in his third term in parliament and is ready to lead.
Mr Hughes is adamant he's got what it takes to do the job.
"I have 15 years experience campaigning to protect our environment and our climate. This is what I'm taking to our members, a plan to campaign stronger, to be better organised, to lead and inspire, and ultimately grow our vote."
He says he stands by his party's position that a coalition with National is highly unlikely.
However he says he got into politics to get things done, and he'd work with any party in Parliament to get good green policies.
"At the moment under National, what we see is crony capitalism, dirty politics, assets being flogged off, growing emissions, rising inequality. I think it's highly unlikely we'd work with a party with that track record."
Currently Kevin Hague is the only other candidate in the race.
