The Earthquake Recovery Minister's under fire for the way he's dismissed a Treasury report about the Canterbury rebuild.
An evaluation report on the Christchurch Central Delivery Programme says financial and other pressures mean it can't be delivered within the cost sharing agreement between the Crown and the city council.
The report says extra funding for the project will be needed.
Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee is adamant Treasury's got its evaluation and its findings wrong.
"I'd describe it as probably the sort of thing you do if you do a desktop analysis without any understanding of the complexities of what's actually happening, and if you don't talk to your colleagues about funding that has been committed through the cabinet process to these projects."
But Labour Leader Andrew Little believes Brownlee's position arrogant.
"They are considered reports. They are there to provide options to ministers. It is totally wrong and arrogant in my view for a Minister of Gerry Brownlee's seniority to be dismissing that work in the way that he has."
