Christchurch Police are appealing for the public's help to find a missing teenager.

Cheyniah Hawkins has gone missing from a Spreydon address.

The 17-year-old was last seen at 12.30 yesterday afternoon.

Acting Senior Sergeant John Armstrong said it is out of character for Cheyniah to go this long without contacting a member of her family and Police have concerns for her safety.

Cheyniah has red coloured hair and was wearing a navy blue wool coat when she was last seen.

Police want to hear from Cheyniah or anyone with any information that may help them find her.
