UPDATED 3.30PM: The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Minister says Treasury's evaluation of the Christchurch CBD rebuild is wrong. Â
It's evaluation of the Christchurch Central Delivery Programme states financial pressures mean the programme can't be delivered within the 2013 cost sharing agreement between the Crown and the City Council.
Mr Brownlee's described the analysis as a "desktop analysis". Â
"[It's what you would do]Â without any understanding of the complexities of what's actually happening and if you don't talk to your colleagues about funding that has been committed through the cabinet process to these projects."
Labour Leader Andrew Little is describing as arrogant, however. Â
"They are considered reports. They are there to provide options to ministers. It is totally wrong and arrogant in my view for a Minister of Gerry Brownlee's seniority to be dismissing that work in the way that he has."
