The ACT Party is more interested in looking to the future than talking about John Banks.
ACT's current leader David Seymour says he's personally thrilled for the former MP, after his conviction for filing a false electoral return during his 2010 mayoral campaign was overturned.
A retrial is possible, and Mr Seymour says he hasn't spoken to Mr Banks about any future involvement with the party.
"I'm very much focussed on the future of ACT and persuading people to vote for us in 2017."
Banks hinted he might consider a return to politics at a recent media conference.
"There's an opportunity for a good mayor for the greater Auckland."
"Is that you," a reporter asked.
"Well, I think I could do a good job, but that's for another day."
