New technology is testing the law once again, with road safety campaigners raising a warning flag on smart watches.
Watches now on the market can be used to make phone calls.
But they are not classed as a mobile, and unlike phones there is nothing to stop people using them while they are driving.
Caroline Perry of the charity Brake said it only takes a second for an accident to happen, and our law needs updating.
In Canada, there is a $120 fine for using a smart watch whilst driving, and in the UK it is a whooping $442.
