The two St Bede's College rowers at the centre of a legal controversy have missed selection for national trials.

Jack Bell and Jordan Kennedy were initially banned from the rowing at the Maadi Cup at Lake Karapiro, after breaching airport security.

Their parents won a High Court interim injunction overturning the ban, on the basis they'd miss out on securing themselves a spot on the New Zealand junior team.

However, both students have failed to make the cut.
