UPDATED 12.03PM: Over four hundred properties are still without power in the Auckland region after a night of wild winds gusting up to 140km/hour.
Earlier this morning, around 2500 homes were without power.Â
In Wellsford, thirty properties are off the grid but are expected to be back on by lunchtime.
In Mahurangi, 70 properties don't have electricity, but are expecting to have it restored by 1pm.
Nearly 200 households in Kaukapakapa, and 29 in Coatesville should have theirs back on by the same time.
In Laingholm, 141 properties are offline but should have their power back on in the next half hour or so.
People in Waitoki and Helensville are expected to have their power on around now
WeatherWatch said late last night "hurricane force" winds were recorded above the Manukau Heads, just west of the city's international airport.
The strong winds were forecast to stick around for a little bit longer, but could likely clear later in the day.
Despite some reports of broken signs and scattered debris, there have been no major reports of damage from the emergency services this morning.
