More than 200 cyclists will set wheels in motion this morning to help victims of human trafficking.
Tear Fund's holding its fourth-annual Poverty Cycle relay in Auckland.
Tear Fund relationship manager Beth Harper said the hundred thousand dollars already raised through this year's event is vital in helping trafficking victims in Southeast Asia and Nepal.
She said every 30 seconds someone is taken and victimised, with the average age of trafficked girls at just 12 years old.
Ms Harper said awareness of both the cause and event is growing, with more than 200 competitors taking part this year.
"Less than one percent of victims ever have recourse for justice and that's not good enough. We want to change that statistic."
