After more than six years and a million phones donated, the Starship Foundation is pulling out of its Mobile Phone Appeal.
The scheme has raised more than $2.3 million dollars for Starship's National Air Ambulance.
The Foundation's Chief Executive Brad Clark said the programme has run its course, as it seems people are holding onto their new Smartphones for longer, before selling them or passing them on to family and friends.
2degrees, Spark and Vodafone will continue to collect old handsets at their retail outlets under the RE:MOBILE scheme.
