Nine of the 15 people involved in a bus crash at Tongariro National Park yesterday have been discharged from hospital.
The injured American and British tourists, who were all aged in their 60's, were travelling to Napier with the Auckland based tour company MoaTrek when the crash occurred just before 8am, seriously injuring four people.
The tourists and the bus driver were all flown to four different hospitals after the plunge down a ten metre bank and into a stream.
MoaTrek company director Miles Clark said the bus driver and five others were still in Whanganui and Taupo hospitals and they would be providing arrangements for those discharged to get back to Auckland.
The injured still in hospital are understood to be in a stable condition.
