The search continues today for a young woman who has mysteriously disappeared after heading out to a west Auckland beach for a run.

Kim Bambus left Ponsonby on Friday morning, telling friends she was going to Piha for a jog.

Her car has since been found at an entrance to a walking track not far from Piha.

A search was first launched on Friday night.

Kim is 21-years-old and when last seen she was wearing a dark coloured jacket, pink exercise top, black shorts, and black and white Nike exercise shoes.

Her hair was tied up in a ponytail and she was carrying a large water bottle.

Kim's sister Storm Bambus has appealed to the public, begging for any clues or help.

"We just need any kind of information," she said. "If anyone has seen her or been at the walking tracks any time yesterday, we just need to know."
